Robotics Engineering for Consumer Goods

Prove it on your own SKUs before the line changes.

Scroll

Name the product range and the step that causes rework, damage or slow changeovers; a few sentences are enough.

Build a rig that repeats the press, twist or slam your customers make, a station that assembles one gift-pack family without missing items, an inspection study on the defects your quality team rejects, or a clean signal link to the cartoner already on your line. Nestack engineers the mechanism, sensing and controls, proves them on a bench or in a guarded trial area, and compares the result with your current method before anything joins a running line.

Who decides what

Did it meet its measures? May it run here? Does cost per correct result beat today?

A nest that holds a matte bottle may scuff a glossy one; a camera tuned for white cartons may miss a smudged date on a clear tube; a hinge rig set for one lid says nothing about the next model. Bundles and artwork refreshes change faster than lines are re-engineered, so every trial names the SKUs, finishes, rates and lighting it covers, and applies to those alone.

Illustrative scope

Interface endurance and abuse rig

Your challenge
Hand-cycled buttons, lids, hinges or cords give operator-dependent results.
Possible scope
One product family in your lab; a force, stroke and rate profile from measured use, with load sensing and cycle counting.
You receive
Rig, profiles, calibration procedure, logging.
Acceptance
Force within tolerance against a calibrated reference; count matches an independent counter; seeded failures caught. Boundary: development evidence, not certification.

Feasibility and project economics

Weigh the fixture, the station and the robot against today's method

We start from the SKUs, the step and figures you already track: staffing, rate, rejects, complaints and changeover frequency. The assessment fixes that baseline, lists the samples and site time a trial needs, and prices realistic options side by side. It ends with a call for one product family: bench trial, a simpler change first, or leave it. A better nest often wins.

01
Improve the current method
Would better nests, guides or instructions remove most errors?
02
Passive fixture
Can a fixed nest or gauge do it without power?
03
Buy
Does a standard cobot pack-off or test machine suit your range?
04
Adapt
Can a change part on existing equipment do it, with OEM consent?
05
Integrate
Is the gap a signal link between machines already installed?
06
Build
What can only a custom rig or station on your products show?

Engineering packages

Eight packages with outputs your team can inspect

A durability or transit rig repeats and records what you specify, so your engineers can compare designs and catch weak points early. It is not a certified test, an accredited result or a field-life prediction. BIS certification and published transit procedures stay with recognised laboratories.

Safety, data, IP and site

Your guarding stays in place and your artwork stays yours

The line owner's safety arrangements come first, and your samples, artwork and test data are confidential by default.

  • The line owner's safety arrangements come first

Guarding, interlocks, emergency stops and safe-stop logic on your machines stay untouched. Connections start with simulated signals on a bench and list what our equipment may never command. Trials run in a guarded area under your permits; detection is tested with objects, never people.

  • When a cycle goes wrong

Plan for jams, double picks, wrong orientation, crushed packs, missing bundle items and product left in a gripper; rehearse a lost reject signal, a controller reset, the wrong recipe and a knocked sensor.

  • Safe state and authorised restart

The station falls to a defined safe state and never marks a wrong count complete. Nobody reaches into an energised zone; restart needs an authorised reset. Name who quarantines suspect packs, reworks mis-kits and runs the step by hand if the aid is withdrawn.

  • Outside the starter offer

Production robot cells, safety-function changes, robots sharing space with operators, palletising, cutting or heat-sealing tools and any food, cosmetic or drug contact need separate owners, an integrator's risk assessment and your approval. We do not supply certified machinery or decide net quantity, declarations, release, certification or packaging-waste reporting.

  • Samples, artwork and test data

Unreleased products, artwork, formulations, defect images and yield data are confidential by default. Agree storage, retention and return before sharing, and whether images may train any model. Keep workers out of camera views. Project fixtures, code and models stay apart from our background tools. Plant network links are OT changes your IT and OT owners approve.

Ways to work together

  1. Consumer Goods Task Feasibility Assessment

A baseline, the samples and site time a trial needs, options priced side by side and a call for one product family.

  2. Bench or guarded-area trial

One rig, station, inspection study or interface, proved before anything joins a running line.

  3. Dedicated engineers

Engineers for one rig, station or interface package, with deliverables, reviews and a supervisor fixed first.

  4. Support after the trial

Agree who repairs the rig or station, holds spares, recalibrates sensors and re-teaches inspection. Not field service, warranty or round-the-clock cover.
